I want to be build a rapport with people to let them that they can trust my insight and reporting. When I came to Winthrop University located in Rock Hill, South Carolina as an undergraduate student, I never knew I would gain a passion to report, discuss, and create content about sports, local and global news, and politics. By taking broadcasting and video production courses at Winthrop I was able to establish my own Youtube channel and podcast by implementing what I had learned from those courses. Doing so, gave me further assurance that this was the field I belong in. During my time here at Winthrop, I became very involved on campus as well as in my department. I started as a member of the Winthrop University Mass Communication Student Advisory Board which allowed me to connect with fellow peers, mentors, and facilitators. Encircling myself with media professionals, I was able to gain insight into the many endeavors of mass communication via the experiences that I encountered like creating multimedia story packages, interviewing people, and writing scripts. These components are essential because they have molded me into the aspiring news reporter that I am today.
